HOMICIDE HAGRIDDEN hails from Italy and has been pouring out some heavy Thrash
Metal music since 1994. After many demo releases and one other full length album, their
second full length "US" is upon us. This release came out last year and is an amazing
Thrash Metal assault. They play a crushing old school style of Thrash Metal music that
takes you back to the early days of Thrash Metal in the late '80's & early '90's. I like the
well blending mixture of the old raw brutality mixed with some technical and intricate
styles. The faster more spastic and aggressive parts remind me a lot of early SLAYER
mixed with early TESTAMENT. These are two of my favorite bands, so of course I was
loving this. Massimo Moda's vocals are done in a style that's similar of Tom Araya from
SLAYER in the "SEASONS IN THE ABYSS" & "SOUTH OF HEAVEN" days. There are
some times that he comes of like Chuck Billy of TESTAMENT though. It's not like these
guys are trying to imitate these two bands, that is just the greatest comparison of their
sound, which would be combination of those two bands. Throw in a little bit of Death
Metal at times to round out their sound. It's hard to believe these guys are from Italy, cause
they play classic American Thrash Metal extremely well! These guys could definitely hold
their own with the big Thrash Metal bands here in the states. I loved every minute of this
release and can wait to find more stuff from them. HOMICIDE HAGRIDDEN would fit in
perfectly with any Thrash Metal collection!
