"PATRICIDAL LUST" is the second full length release from San Francisco, California's
VASTUM. This release is much heavier, darker and brutal then their previous release
"CARNAL LAW". These guys have gone through a lot getting this release to surface, but
it's finally here. The band plays a crushing old school Death Metal style of music that
takes you back to the early '90's. They have a sound that reminds me of American Mid
West Death Metal with some Florida Death Metal mixed with Swedish Death Metal.
There is a crunchy grooved out guitar sound that runs through a lot of their songs mixed
with tuned down Death Metal guitars. There is a really low ended Death Metal sound that
kind of reminded me of early DEICIDE, in music only. The vocals are done in a thick
lower end Death Metal growl that reminded me a little of GORGUTS & OBITUARY
combined. So far this is a killer combination and should be to any Death metal fan reading
this. In other words, this means you must pick this up and blast it loud and often! This is
an absolute must for fans of OBITUARY, DEICIDE, TON, DEADEN, ENTOMBED,
BLOODBATH, FLESHTIZED & GORGUTS!
