After 10 years of silence Italy's ANTROPOFAGUS have returned with a crushing new
release. They play a very solid old school style of Death Metal with some modern Death
Metal touches. The band has taken a little turn in direction by adding in some very
strong, tight a precise technical sounds. The music is very aggressive and brutal, but is
done with a smart well thought out process. They have taken the best of old school late
80's & early 90's Death Metal and mixed it with a modern style that we have seen in the
past 10 years. The band has grown over their absence and for the better. They take you
from a fast paced energy filled style into a more drawn out flowing creeping style. This is
more of a thinking mans, more mature and smart Death Metal style. I loved every second
of this release and it was nice to hear something that is fresh and new in a genre that is
swamped with so many bands doing the same thing. COMATOSE MUSIC has a huge
roster of great bands and I would have to say that ANTROPOFAGUS is by far one of
the best. Fans of the greats like NILE, HOUR OF PENANCE & JOB FOR A
COWBOY will love these guys!
