BESIEGED is a Thrash Metal band out of Winnipeg, Canada that formed back in 2003.
They only released one other album which was a demo entitled "VISIONS OF PAIN".
This album is a re-issue that originally came out in 2010 and was limited to only 300
copies. These guys play a killer old school style of Thrash Metal music that kept bringing
to mind SEPULTURA's "ARISE" album mixed with SLAYER's "REIGN IN BLOOD"
album. They have that fast paced killer Thrash Metal vibe with some really good riffing
and shredding grooves mixed all through out. There was a little bit of crunchy guitars
mixed in that reminded me of TOXIC HOLOCAUST a bit. The drums were really solid
and the backbone of the bands sound. It was like having Igor from SEPULTURA on
drums. The vocal style also reminded me of SEPULTURA from the "ARISE" days. It's
not to say these guys were ripping SEPULTURA off, because they weren't. It was more
like listening to SEPULTURA's long lost cousin. They have their own identity, but they
were some how connected to them. This was a killer album through and through.
Hopefully with the re-release of this album we will get some new material from these guys
soon!
