DOWN BY LAW
"CHAMPIONS AT HEART"
DC-JAM RECORDS

DOWN BY LAW was one of the leading Punk Rock bands to dominate during the 90's.
Formed by former
ALL front man Dave Smalley back in 1989. The band went on to release
eight successful studio albums before they split up. Nine years have since pasted and Dave
and Sam Williams, lead guitarist decided to write some new tracks and see what would
happen. The result is sixteen tracks that make up "CHAMPIONS AT HEART". These guys
have heard the out pour of love from fans and reformed. They have proven themselves as
one of the better Punk bands to come out of the 90's and this new release is proof of that.
The band has shown much maturity and years of experience with one listen to the new
release. The music is still done in a Punk Rock style but has a bit of a laid back Punk sound.
It is not as fast paced, angry and pissed off as earlier releases. There is a more varied sound
on this release as well. They kind of blend styles and sounds like
IGGY POP, ANDRE
W.K., BLACK FLAG, CIRCLE JERKS, H20
& GREEN DAY all together. I am a fan of
all these bands, so of course I was loving this new sound. I'm not sure if fans of their older
material will be into this as much, but I can see this drawing in new fans.
DOWN BY LAW
have proven themselves over and over again with each new release and they have done it
once again. "CHAMPIONS AT HEART" has shown how a Punk band can advance and
improve over the years and still be a force in their scene!
