The Italian Death Metal band HOUR OF PENANCE releases their best effort so far
with "SEDITION". "SEDITION" is the bands fifth release to date and really beats the
hell out of you from start to finish. They have really built a name for themselves in the
Death Metal scene as one of the better modern Death Metal bands around. This new
offer is a perfect example of why. They play ferocious modern Death Metal that has a
strong Progressive feel to it. There is a lot of technicality mixed in with the sheer
brutality. The vocals are a harsh throaty mid ranged Death growl style. HOUR OF
PENANCE in no way sounds like MESHUGGAH, but they kept popping in my head as
I listened to this. I think it is the tightness, perfection and musicianship that kept me
thinking of MESHUGGAH. These guys keep out doing themselves with each new
release and they have done it again. If you love technical Progressive Death Metal then
this is the band for you!
