Formed in 2010 in Galway, Ireland comes this five piece Post-Metal band known as
ILENKUS. This debut release. These guys have a really modern Post Metal sound that
is very intricate on many levels. As the album went on the bands that kept coming to
mind were CLUTCH, GODFLESH, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN &
MASTADON. They have a very thick huge sound that just engulfs you and pulls you
in. They have a bit of rawness that is balanced out by some really technical, tight and
non-typical arrangements. There is even some evidence of Noisecore present in some
areas as well. These guys have definitely made a strong statement with this debut release
and made sure that they would be heard. This is a strong album coming right out of the
gate for them, lets hope that the next release is as equally or better than this won, which
is gonna be a feat that will be hard to top. I strongly suggest people to support this
amazing band!
