KATANA is a breath of fresh air when it comes to their music style. KATANA hails from
Sweden and plays a very cool classic style of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal music. I
grew up listening to this style of the music in the late 70's and early 80's and am glad to see
some newer bands playing this kind of music. "STORMS OF WAR" is the bands second
full length album. They have a very progressive Heavy Metal sound that was very
popular at the time. The structures of the songs help progress these guys way above the
typical Heavy Metal band of this genre. The dual guitar work of Tabias & Patrik brings to
mind the great work of IRON MAIDEN. In fact, a lot of KATANA does remind me of
early IRON MAIDEN mixed with a little JUDAS PRIEST & SAXON. Not that these
guys are copying these bands, but play a similar style and could probably hold their own
with these huge names in the industry!
