LORD MANTIS has unearthed their newest offering to the masses. They are based out
of Chicago and feature members of NACHTMYSTIUM, VON VENIEN, INDIAN &
AVICHI. They play a bands sound, which is a slow gritty and raw crawl. There is times
when the music gets a bit faster, but it's not much. I really am starting to dig a lot of bands
that play this style and LORD MANTIS is definitely at the top of the list. The music is
very dark sounding as well, which is where the Black Metal becomes very present. In the
faster more harsh sections is where the Death Metal influences shine through. The vocals
tend to lean more towards a raw harsh Black Metal scream & growl crossover style. This
is a must for all fans of Sludge Metal especially if you dig the members other band
NACHTMYSTIUM, cause it's a Sludge version of them!
