"DEATH CALLS THE ISLANDS" is MEMORIA's follow up to their 2008 release
"MEMORIOQUIA: AURADEUTUNG" album. The band hails from Australia and
plays a blackened Death Metal style of music. Their sound is very aggressive, abusive
and raw. There is a really cold and harsh vibe that runs through their sound. There is a
blasphemous War Metal sound to their music as well. The guitars are done in a static /
noise like style with some feedback at times too. The vocals are done in a harsh Black
Metal growl / scream style with some clean Black Metal ones mixed in. They remind me
of a lot of the Black & Death Metal bands from Europe that were coming out in the early
90's. There are touches of bands like early EMPEROR, IMMORTAL, BURZUM,
ULVER & GORGOROTH in their sound. They in know way rip off these bands, but
would definitely fit in well with the above mentioned bands. If your into early 90's
European Black Metal than you should seek these guys out! Well worth it!
