"BURY THE LIGHT"

PHARAOH is another band that hails from Pennsylvania and really close to where I
used to live. These guys date back to 1997, but it wasn't until 2003 that their first
release saw the light of day. "BURY THE LIGHT" is the bands newest release and has
surpassed all the great things they have done before. They are a Power Metal band that
out shines most of the bands that are in their genre. The music is very intricate and has
many levels that sucks the listener in and takes them on a massive journey. The guitar
work takes you back to some of the best Thrash / Speed & Power Metal bands of the
late 80's and early 90's. The way some of the arrangements of the songs are laid out
remind me of the great RUSH, but only if they were a Power Metal band. The driving
force behind the band is definitely the guitar work of Matt Johnson. The strong, clean
and empowering vocal styling of Tim Aymar also helps take these guys to a higher level
and stand out amongst the other bands playing this style. Every Power Metal fan must
hear this band and show them much support!
