EXILE ON MAINSTREAM RECORDS
This is the debut release from this Danish Sludge Metal trio named, RISING. These guys
have really made a great impression on the masses. They take many elements from
different genres and just pack on the Sludge Metal in every way possible. They take some
influences from Classic Rock and Traditional Heavy Metal in the likes of THIN LIZZY,
JUDAS PRIEST & IRON MAIDEN. They then add in a lot of fast paced riffage in the
form of some classic Speed & Thrash Metal in the form of bands like MERCYFUL
FATE, CELTIC FROST and early METALLICA. After all this they mix in some
modern Doom / Sludge / Post Hardcore like MASTADON, CONVERGE &
CROWBAR. This is all covered in there creative Sludge format. These guys have just
become one of my favorite, if not, my favorite Sludge / Doom Metal band. This is highly
suggested for every Doom Metal fan out there. They have taken everything that is great
about every band that plays their style that has come before them and put their own
tweak on it and come up with an amazing debut album. I don't know how they are going
to top this, but I can't wait to see what's next!!!
