WHIPSTRIKER
"TROOPERS OF MAYHEM"
PRC MUSIC
How am I just now discovering this killer Metal band from Brazil. WHIPSTRIKER has
been bashing out their brand of Speed Metal since 2008 and I loving every bit of it. They
have had a ton of demos and split releases and this is only their second full length release,
which came out originally in 2013. They have done a ton of split releases, EPs and
compilations since. These guys play a killer old school style of Speed Metal music that
infuses Punk, Heavy Metal and Crossover into their sound. The two bands that I felt I
heard the most was a melting of MOTORHEAD with VENOM. I loved every minute of
this release. They have a solid Speed Metal vibe and then throw in that Punk attitude,
especially 70s Punk from England along with some darkened Black Metal influences at
times. The guitar work had that really strong MOTORHEAD sound that Lemmy was so
famous for. When it's MOTORHEAD you know it's MOTORHEAD. The darker sides
is where the VENOM influences are mostly present. The vocals have a slight Crust /
Punk / Crossover / Black Metal all mixed together vibe to them. I loved the grooved out
speeding madness these guys created. If your a fan of MOTORHEAD, VENOM,
NUNSLAGHTER, TOXIC HOLOCAUST, HELLBASTARD & MIDNIGHT then
your going to love WHIPSTRIKER!!!
